Lauria Marie is a young French photographer from Lyon city, her strong interest in photography begins in her adolescence. The experience side to side with the photographer Jean Antoine Raveyre was relevant for her training and professional growth, the experience allowed her to have a first approach to contemporary photography.
The entire Lauria Maire's production revolves around man and his complexity, trying to capture the infinite aspects related to him including his relationship with nature. All the travellings made over the years allowed Lauria Marie to enrich her cultural background, thus broadening her knowledge of the different cultures' lifestyles and offering her a wide vision of what are the cultural and behavioral codes of man immersed in today's civilized society. Based on these observations Lauria Marie created the series Error 404, a project born with the intent of highlighting the unnatural actions of the human being in modern society. We carry out our existence with a certain automatism, the photographer explains and Error 404 is a complaint of this statement, showing an alternative reality through improper portraits and codes that do not belong to us.

L.A.: Lauria how and when did you become interested in photography?

Lauria Marie: I start being interested about photography when i was 15. I was on my fiancé movie set and he ask me to be set photographer. It was a reveal., it was such an incredible feeling to catch the moment, playing with the light and the actors. Since then i never stop.

L.A.: Who were the first artists that you found inspiring?
.
Lauria Marie: The first artist who inspired me was Gregory Crewdson I discover contemporary photography through is work. I like his universe between photography and cinema. The poetry of his images is so intense, i also like the harmony between the nature and the Human being. which is one of my favorite topics.

L.A.: What do you like most about being a photographer?

Lauria Marie: What i like the most as a photographer is to be free. I like to be alone with my fiancé and co worker around the world. Trying to delivered a message and exist trough my pictures. I also like to managed my schedule and my photoshoot as i want. It's a dreamlife and a gift to know how to make beautiful memory and express myself forward photography.

L.A.: How does this project relate to other work or project you have done?

Lauria Marie: My projects are always connected by the human being. I have always loved photographing men because of the complexity of body work, their expression or non-expression but also to try to bring out their souls. At the same time as the error 404 series I was working on another project on the theme of violence against women. On some project I like to transmit intense emotions and on others I like the inexpressiveness and the coldness.

L.A.: How do you think photography can be used to drive social change? and what is the role of the artist in contemporary society?

Lauria Marie: I think photography has an important role to play because it is everywhere. Whether you are walking in the subway, watching TV or even riding. photography is everywhere It's a great support because we live in a society where the time is running, people are connected to their smartphone and no longer take the time to exchange or read. So we have a very short time to transmit a message across and photography is the best way to get there I think the artist is a reflection of the messages he transmits. He is a discreet witness of social problems but he is also precious because he allows the world to see beauty who can sometimes be forgotten.

L.A.: What are you busy doing in this period? Have you any future project?
.
Lauria Marie: Actually i'm in Switzerland in holiday. My fiancé and I are taking 5month holiday every year to travel the world, to find new inspirations and new artists. I think I will continue to work on the series error 404 but this time in different places with more characters. During my trip to Stocholm last year the subway stations have inspired me terribly. So I think to continue in the metro, a place as smooth and neutral as a desert but where there are so many human activities to remodel.
