The collection of works on display is dedicated to memories and experiences of the past. Fragments of yesterday inviting us to reflect on what has been, who we were and changes in the state of things.
The theme is addressed through the different planes of existence, and tell about the self, about one’s own life and biography, but also about "us" and our collective memory, through the historical documentation of our culture, of our spaces, habits and customs.
The exhibition "Echoes of Yesterday" collect photographic, digital and video works capable of involving the visitor in a wide spectrum of emotions, stimulating interest and curiosity.

The participating artists reflect on who we were, how time and life’s events have shaped our journey, and how memory influences our perception of reality—at times distorting it, softening or blurring recollections.
While the exhibition has a distinctive focus—listening attentively to the echoes of our past—it remains open to multiple interpretations: from autobiographical narratives to the collective dimension of historical memory, from the documentation of spaces and cultures to the evocation of traditions and customs that have since evolved. Echoes of Yesterday thus becomes a mosaic of interwoven experiences, bridging personal histories with collective ones.
Through images that evoke childhood memories and familiar places, the artists elicit a madeleine effect in viewers, bringing dormant emotions and fragments of past stories to the surface. The photographs are not merely visual representations but serve as tools for remembering and rediscovering what time has layered within our memory.
The use of archival materials plays a central role in the exhibition, allowing for a reconsideration of the past in light of the present and offering new perspectives through photography and video. The selected artists document spaces and moments that have left a deep imprint on collective memory. Landscape is a recurring presence in the exhibited works, acting as a link between past and present, evoking a time when everything seemed simpler and happier. This theme prompts reflections on the continuity of places over time, as well as on the transformations that occur throughout a lifetime or across generations.

Some artists approach memory as a shared experience, bringing significant places and iconic images from collective imagination back to life. Others, instead, turn their gaze toward the future, questioning what visual and emotional legacy each of us will leave for generations to come.
In Echoes of Yesterday, time overlaps and intertwines, revealing how the past continues to live in the present through images and memories. The exhibition is an invitation to reflect on the value of memory and the power of art in giving voice to what once was, transforming remembrance into a kind of collective ritual—one to be experienced together, moving through the exhibition’s space.
